Professor Horst Wildemann received the honorary doctorate from the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH)

Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Horst Wildemann received the honorary doctorate from the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), which was presented to him by TUHH President Prof. Andreas Timm-Giel and TUHH Vice President Wolfgang Kersten. 

Professor Wildemann was honored for successfully linking science and operational practice, for reducing the vaccine shortage during the COVID-19 epidemic, and for his services to the international competitiveness of the German automotive industry.

Professor Wildemann developed a modular production system called "BioNTainer" for the COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer BioNTech SE. This enabled the Mainz-based pharmaceutical company to scale up the production of its Covid-19 vaccine during the pandemic.

“I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Professor Wildemann on his well-deserved honorary doctorate. This is an amazing achievement that highlights his dedication and exceptional contributions to science and the industry. Congratulations on this tremendous achievement!”, said Professor Gunther Friedl, Dean of the TUM School of Management.

Professor Horst Wildemann held the Chair of Business Administration, Corporate Management, Logistics, and Production at the Technical University of Munich, and has headed the Munich-based consultancy TCW Management Consulting for more than 30 years now. Wildeman is also the initiator of the conference Münchner Management Kolloquium, which is held annually at TUM.
