Sarah Fleischer is the Co-Founder and CEO of tozero, Europe’s first startup focused on recycling lithium-ion batteries. She co-founded the company in 2022 together with Dr. Ksenija Milicevic Neumann.
Tozero is building the ultimate lithium-ion battery recycling machine, recovering essential materials like lithium and graphite. To date, tozero has raised €17 million from investors including NordicNinja, Atlantic Labs, automotive giant Honda, and global infrastructure leader JGC Group, underscoring its potential to scale sustainable battery recycling worldwide.
Before founding tozero, Sarah led commercial strategy and partnerships at Germany’s unicorn logistics startup Forto. Prior to that, she served as an advisor to the Luxembourg Space Agency, where she launched the €120 million VC fund Orbital Ventures and co-developed the startup incubator, ESRIC, with the European Space Agency.
Sarah holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering from TUM, completed her studies at Harvard Business School, and is a Fellow of the Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM).
