EU sanctions hit Russian LNG for the first time - our Energy expert Prof. Dr. Svetlana Ikonnikova provides initial forecasts in an interview.
Last Thursday (June 20, 2024), the EU agreed on a new package of sanctions against Russia. For the first time, it targets liquefied natural gas (LNG) supplies and Putin's ghost fleets.
”What is needed now is greater coordination between the EU and its partners in the Middle East and Asia to ensure that Russia does not find another loophole for the new EU sanctions,” says Ikonnikova.
